Evoluce delivered an 3D-Sensing software for Centric to be used in their latest exhibition. “Twittering Shadows” allows that two users can interact in a space in front of the Kinect sensor with messages coming from a Twitter account. The users see themselves as a 2D avatar in in the colors black and green. People can interact with the textboxes using gestures after they have sent their idea in a tweet. If a person makes a special gesture (touch the speech bubble) the last tweet is shown in the textbox.

Ein eigens für die Science Days entwickeltes Programm vom CERMAT Multitouch Project greift das Thema Energie auf. Als Entwicklungsumgebung kam auch diesmal Cinderella 2.1 (TUIO Support) zum Einsatz. Das Programm mit dem Namen „EnergyCity“ ist mittlerweile fertig und soll im Folgenden vorgestellt werden.
EnergyCity 1.0 wurde innerhalb eines Seminars als Gemeinschaftsarbeit von Kathrin Kolb, Ina Neufeld (Art Design), Michael Mikula, Milena Schaufelberger (UI Design & didaktische Konzeption) und Manuela Herrmann, Fabian Mundt (Programmierung) entwickelt. Ziel der Lernsoftware ist es das soziale Lernen zu fördern und gemeinsam EnergyCity mit Strom zu versorgen.
Hierzu hat man die Wahl zwischen fünf verschiedenen Kraftwerken, welche an verschiedenen Einrastpunkten platziert werden können. Ja nach Position und Typ wird eine unterschiedlich große Menge Strom erzeugt. Leider geht eine immense Umweltverschmutzung damit einher, so dass EnergyCity zwar ‘leuchtet’, aber gleichzeitig völlig verschmutzt.
Nachdem genügend Strom erzeugt wurde, zoomt die Anwendung in die Stadt hinein, bis man sich direkt in einem Haus befindet. Hier ist nun die Aufgabe, in Anbetracht der hohen Verschmutzung, Energie zu sparen. Nur wenn alle drei Nutzer gemeinsam handeln gelingt es genügend Strom zu sparen, um die Stadt mit Energie ohne übermäßigen Dreck zu versorgen. Dadurch wird erneut die soziale Komponente der Software betont. Stets sind die Eingaben über direktes bewegen oder berühren umgesetzt.

This application was developed by Evoluce for Centric, www.centric.eu. Twitter messages are controlled by movements of users detected in front of the Kinect sensor. Every time a user waves his hand through the speech bubble a new twitter message appears. When one of the users performs an “embrace” gesture both users share the same idea in only one speech bubble.
The new Evoluce TWO works with a 3D depth-sensor above the display. This allows to detect multitouch events on the glass surface of the 46″ Full HD LCD. The shape and position of objects on and above the surface are recognized. The Evoluce TWO is based on a professional NEC public display (P461).
WIN&I opens up a new era in PC interaction. Windows 7 and thousands of applications can be controlled with the natural user interface released by Evoluce. WIN&I software replaces the computer mouse by tracking simple gestures from users up to several meters from the screen using the power of the Kinect depth-sensor.
The user points the palm of the hand toward the screen and moves the cursor by moving the hand.Users can move and walk around during the gesture control session without losing contact. Even other people in the room will not be able to interfere unless the user in control lets them take over.
WIN&I Home Edition offers touchless gesture control for Windows 7, Windows Media Center, Internet Browsers and thousands of applications. The WIN&I Business Edition adds gesture control to Microsoft Office and gives the opportunity to present with PowerPoint in a new amazing way with special features like the laser pointer mode.
